HAND-FOOT-MOUTH DISEASE

Causative agent is Coxsackievirus. Elementary lesion is an oval vesicle, based on an erythema. Palmo-plantar areas and mouth mucosa are involved. Vesicles in the mouth are opened and aphthae-like erosions remain. Disease is self-limited and treatment is not necessary.
