- Parakeratosis
- Stratum granulosum, which is normally found under stratum corneum, is thinned or lost.
- The spinal layer over the papillae is thinned.
- Papillae are elongated and the upper parts are dilated (Papillomatosis)
- Interpapiller regions are regularly extended and lower parts are thickened.
